Who I am (and why I do this)
Hi, I’m Cindy. I’m a digital marketer who’s spent over 10 years working in both corporate and agency life. When people ask me what I do, I usually say: I build relationships, I help people learn, and I make sure marketing actually gets done.
In 2025, I packed up in Houston and moved to Portland. Houston will always be home and shaped who I am, but Portland is giving me space to grow in new ways. I love the vibe here. The coffee shops, the energy, the creativity. It’s exactly the kind of place where I can keep pushing myself as a marketer and as a human.
My story
If I had to sum up my career in one sentence, it’s this: I get sh*t done.
Some of my best work has come from agency life. Don’t get me wrong, agencies can be tough environments. But they also taught me the most.
At One Foot Over, I worked with Houston Shell & Concrete, part of Cemex. That relationship started rocky. But I stuck with it, earned leadership’s trust, and got to roll up my sleeves with everything from fixing attribution issues to coaching their team on new tactics. In the end, we renewed their annual contract and saw real results like an uptick in online appointments. I could see our work making a difference, and that’s the stuff that fires me up.
I don’t just like creating plans. I like seeing them through. The calls, the optimizations, the teamwork, even those late nights with creative teams making sure assets get out the door. I thrive on the follow-through.
How I work
When you work with me, I want you to feel at ease. Like, finally, someone I can count on.
I’m the person who connects the dots. I see the big picture, I rally the right people, and I make sure things move forward. Clients and teammates know they can trust me to follow through. I don’t drown anyone in jargon. I keep it simple, clear, and actionable.
People usually describe me as approachable, resilient, and committed. Basically, if you need someone who can map out the strategy and then actually execute it, that’s me.
Beyond Marketing
When I’m not working with clients, I’m giving my time to organizations I care about.
I volunteered with AMA Houston for 7 years, serving on committees and the board. I helped run fundraisers and even their annual marketing conference in 2022. I also served on the East End Alliance Board, where I helped organize community events around social justice and built their online presence from scratch.
Giving back is important to me. It keeps me grounded and connected to the bigger picture.
Now for the fun stuff
I’m a coffee lover, and Portland’s coffee scene is my new playground.
I’m a 2nd degree black belt. Yep, 13 years of martial arts training and even competing in Las Vegas.
I’m also a huge pro wrestling fan. Total tomboy energy.
One of my favorite quotes is from Shirley Chisholm:
"Don’t listen to those who say YOU CAN’T. Listen to the voice inside yourself that says, I CAN."
That quote has followed me since college. It’s basically the voice in my head when I’m trying something new, even if it feels a little hazy at first.
Let’s Get Sh*t Done Together
Your marketing doesn’t have to stay stuck on the to-do list.
If you’re ready for a partner who can take your ideas, build the plan, and see it through to the finish line, let’s talk.
